The Vienna Woods, located on the outskirts of Vienna, is a beautiful natural area with forests, rolling hills, and charming villages.
Throughout the journey, I will provide you with interesting insights into the region's culture, history, and natural beauty.
We will start our tour with a visit to Heiligenkreuz Abbey, a Cistercian monastery founded in the 12th century. The abbey is known for its impressive Gothic architecture and its collection of medieval manuscripts.
Next, we will head to the Mayerling hunting lodge, a place with a tragic history. Here, you will learn about the mysterious story of the death of Crown Prince Rudolf and his lover Mary Vetsera. We will also visit the memorial chapel built in their memory.
Our tour will continue through the Helenetal Valley, a picturesque area known for its spectacular natural landscapes and traditional villages. We will stop in the town of Baden, a spa town famous for its thermal springs and historic casino. Here you will have free time to explore the town and relax in one of its many cafes and restaurants.
At the end of the tour, we will return to Vienna, passing through the enchanting landscapes of the Vienna Woods.
