During this guided tour, I will show you everything you should not miss in Vienna! We will explore some of the most historic and picturesque areas of this beautiful city.
We will start exploring charming Vienna starting with the State Opera, one of the most famous opera houses in the world. Right behind it, we will admire the Albertina Museum. Did you know that its name derives from its owners, Albert and Christina?
We will continue to the Imperial Crypt – the main burial site of the Habsburg dynasty and to Stephansplatz, the central square of Vienna, where you will see the stunning St. Stephen\'s Cathedral. This Gothic cathedral dates back to the 12th century and is one of the city\'s most iconic landmarks. You will learn about the cathedral\'s history, architecture, and the famous figures who have visited this site over the centuries.
Next, we will take a stroll along the Graben, a street lined with luxury shops, cafes, and historic buildings. You will see the Pestsäule or Plague Column, a Baroque sculpture that commemorates the end of the plague in Vienna in the 17th century. We will also visit the Hofburg Palace, the former imperial residence of the Habsburg dynasty for more than 600 years. The palace complex includes the famous Spanish Riding School, the Imperial Treasury housing the Crown Jewels of the Holy Roman Empire, the Austrian National Library, and the Augustinian Church.
We will stop at some of these locations to admire their architecture and learn about their history, and in the meantime, we can have a warm Viennese coffee and learn more about Vienna\'s coffee tradition and its delicious cakes.
